How is compatibility calculated from two birthdays?

From each birth date we work out five values. Sun sign is based on the standard date table and indicates personality and style. The Life Path is derived from the complete date of birth and indicates direction and value. Birthday Number is one that depends on the number of days in a month and offers more personal data. Personal Year is determined by birth month, date of birth, and the current year, and tells about what phase of life the individual is going through right now. The Personal Matrix presents the date as a 22-point matrix.

Both groups are then compared: signs in terms of their position relative to one another on the zodiac circle, their elements, and their modalities; numbers using fixed numerology principles, matrices using seven chakra-based dimensions from the Connection Spectrum. Each stage follows a set formula so that two dates will always produce the same chart.

Why is there no single compatibility percentage?

One number would average away the useful part. Two people can have signs that rub and Life Paths that fit easily, and a percentage hides both. It also sounds far more certain than any birthday-based tradition can honestly be.

So we place five lenses next to each other and see how many agree in their direction, leaving you with something more than just a conclusion: something that can be talked about. There is a rating for the Connection Spectrum too, yet it is still just one out of five lenses.

What does it mean to agree and disagree?

There is a universal framework for each of the five perspectives, and that is what makes it possible to compare various methods of interpreting the dynamics of relations.

When there is an agreement between independent systems, such as both Sun sign and Life Path suggesting easy communication, then the pattern deserves special attention because it is likely to become a permanent part of your relationship dynamics. When they disagree, that is not a warning. It points to an area with two sides - easy in some moods, effortful in others - and those are usually the most interesting places to start a conversation.

Does it assume a man and a woman?

No. The calculation uses birth dates only, and it is symmetric: sex and gender never enter the maths. It works the same way for any couple, and for friends, family or colleagues too.

Do I need the birth year or the time of birth?

The day and month are enough to place both signs on the wheel above. In case you require a complete chart, you must provide a year, as the Life Path, the Personal Matrix and the Spectrum rely upon the entire date. However, the hour of birth is not required for this type of astrology because all of the calculations are made using the Sun signs. In the case where the birthday is close to a cusp, we will mark it accordingly.

Does compatibility change over time?

Most of the map stays fixed, because birthdays don’t change. The Personal Year is the exception. It moves through a nine-year cycle and turns over every January 1, so the timing part of your map shifts each year. Two people in very different years can feel out of step for a while without anything deeper being wrong.

Is anything stored?

The free map is calculated in your browser. There is no signup, names are optional and stay on your device, and the birthdays you enter are never sent to our servers, put in a URL or included in analytics. Treat the result as a lens for reflection, not a ruling on anyone’s future.
